Giving is twice blessed – both the giver and the receiver are blessed. According to the spiritual logic when we give, we expand.
We cleanse our body by bathing, our mind through love, our soul with transforming knowledge and our wealth by giving. Our wealth is at times tainted with some bad deeds, big or small. When we do charity this wealth gets purified.
Our wealth, like water can either help us live or can destroy us by sinking our boat. If the boat gets filled with water, it will sink and take down everything with it. To save ourselves we need to pour the water out of the boat. Similarly we need to pour out or share our wealth to uplift our soul.
Once, the poet Kalidas saw an old man walking in the sun without any umbrella or slippers. He gave his own to him out of pity. The poet was then noticed walking bare feet in the sun by one of the king’s generals, who offered him a lift on the royal elephant. On reaching the palace, Kalidas told a surprised king, that the moment he gave away his slippers and umbrella, God had lifted him.
· Learn to purify your wealth by doing charity once a day or once a week.
· If you have hurt a person, fill him with your love. Mentally pass on this positive energy. You’ll notice the difference in yourself after giving.
· If you feel someone is badly in need of love, pour out your love from your heart towards that person.
· While you are taking a bath imagine that you are giving love and joy to your body and see the difference.
· When your mind is worrying, imagine that you are pouring love to your mind and observe how you feel.
· Every day offer love to the departed souls in your family or the ones for whom you care and see subtly how you will be protected and guided.
Love for power is ego and power of love is god.
