A person, who has all the four necessities of life and yet creates conflict……

A person, who has all the four necessities of life and yet creates conflict, is nothing but a fool. Does he or does he not get food on time? It does not matter whether the food is cooked in oil or not, but at least he gets his food on time, does he not? Does he also not get his cup of tea on time; whether it is once or twice a day, does he not at least get tea or something to drink? Does he not have clothes to wear? Does he not have a roof over his head? He should be thankful for all this, especially on cold winters days! So when people complain, in spite of having these basic four necessities, they should be locked up in prison! : )

Balance

The material and the spiritual are but two parts of one universe and one truth. By overstressing one part or the other, man fails to achieve the balance necessary for harmonious development….Practice the art of living in this world without losing your inner peace of mind. Follow the path of balance to reach the inner wondrous garden of Self-realization.

The Level of naturalness (sahajata) for earning money : )

An inner intent to earn more money :

The intent (bhaavna) to earn more money
is raudradhyan (adverse internal meditation that hurts the
person having it and also others around). Intent for earning money means
intent to create shortage of money for others.
That is why the Lord has said, ‘do not have any
intent (occupy yourself) to earn money.’ Do
you ever plan and occupy yourself (contemplate,
dhyan) about taking a shower everyday?
Questioner : No Dada.
Dadashri : Even if you do not do that,
don’t you get a bucket full of water?

Questioner : I do get it.

Dadashri : Just as you get one bucket
of water for your shower without planning,
similarly everybody gets enough money for his
or her need. This is the law. There is no reason
for a person to become occupied with money.
Do you ever think whether you will get
a mattress to sleep on tonight? Whereas here,
one is preoccupied day and night with money,
money and money! How did you find the
stupid guru who has taught you to chase
money all day long? Due to this, people have
lost their home values and health, and have
invited ruin. We now see more people having
high blood pressure and heart attacks.
What the world does is mediated by
worldly knowledge (loksangnya). This worldly
knowledge becomes the leader for one who
has not found the right spiritual teacher. The
world believes that happiness lies in money.
The disease has got in because of this worldly
knowledge. Now, with which knowledge can
this disease be eradicated? The Lord says
that this disease can be eradicated through the
knowledge of the Gnani (gnanisangnya).
That is why I am trying to tell you this;
even without thinking do you not get water for
bathing or a mattress to sleep on or all the
other necessary things? This is your
spontaneous state (sahaj) for your routine
needs. This level of naturalness (sahajata)
needs to be there for money also.

Right Activity

Always perform small as well as important duties with deep attention, remembering that God is guiding and stimulating every worthwhile effort you are making to achieve a noble ambition.

Should money be the goal of life ? —- Dadashri : )

Should money be the goal of life ?

Dadashri: I asked people why they were running
after money so much. Why make money the
goal of life? Money comes on the basis of merit
karma (Punya). They ask, ‘is it not coming
because of intellect?’ I replied, ‘If that was the
case go see how these intellectuals are running
around with hardly any shoes to wear while
their dumb bosses are swimming in money.’
These intellectuals will give you all kinds of
advice, but they themselves are poor. Those
who are simple at heart and do not hurt others
with their intellect have money. This money
comes to them from their merit karmas of this and previous births.
Questioner: With money comes food
and comforts.

Dadashri: Yes, it does not come from
God, and therefore people have lost their love
for God. He has no faith in God. He does not
know God at all. He loves what he sees. The
world loves money, does it not?
The goal is lost and one becomes a beggar
This beggary does not leave. The beggary
for respect, the beggary for fame, the beggary
for sex pleasure, the beggary for
money….beggary, beggary, beggary! Have you
ever seen anyone without beggary ? Finally
one even becomes a beggar for building temples,
and then gets involved in building them. This is
because, not finding anything to occupy himself,
one starts building temples for fame! Wait a
minute, why are you building temples? Is there
a scarcity of temples in India? But here this
person starts collecting money for building
temples. The Lord (Mahavira) has said that the
constructor of the temple will build a temple if
that is in his karma. Why are you getting
involved in this?!

The religion for human beings in India is
not simply for building temples only. Birth in
India is exclusively for liberation. Do all your
work with the goal of attaining liberation in one
more life time. If this is the goal, it will be
attained in 50, 100 or 500 life times to come.
Let go of all other goals. Thereafter, be free to
marry, have children, become a doctor or
whatever, build a bungalow, or whatever you
wish. Stick to this one goal, that having taken
birth in India, I want to attain liberation and
proceed in that direction. This will lead to your
liberation.

Meditation

The more you meditate, the more helpful you can be to others, and the more deeply you will be in tune with God. Selfish people remain spiritually hidebound, but the unselfish expand their consciousness. When you find your omnipresence in meditation, you will find God. If He is pleased with you, all nature will work in harmony with you. Learn to talk to Him with all your soul.
